As Spring Break hits full swing, avid skiers and snowboarders flock to Lake Tahoe’s snow-covered mountains to carve up the slopes. But for those seeking a more serene snow-covered experience, snowshoeing has become a popular alternative. While many snowshoeing enthusiasts believe that they are immune to the dangers of an avalanche, recent tragedies have proven otherwise.
It’s a common misconception that an avalanche can only happen to experienced backcountry skiers or snowboarders. In reality, anyone who ventures into the mountains during the winter months is at risk. Yet, time and time again, people seem to believe that they’re the exception to the rule. “Oh, that won’t happen to me,” they say, as they trek into the backcountry without any proper safety gear or training.
But fear not, Tahoe Snowshoe Tours has got your back. Their experienced guides are not only experts at leading safe adventures, but they’re also professional photographers who capture stunning photos of your experience. Whether you’re looking for a night, sunset, or daytime tour, they’ve got you covered.
While some may think that snowshoeing is a relatively low-risk activity, the reality is that an avalanche can happen anywhere at any time. That’s why Tahoe Snowshoe Tours never takes their clients into avalanche terrain. They prioritize safety over everything else, which is why they’ve received rave reviews from their customers.
One satisfied customer wrote, “The guides were knowledgeable, friendly, and made us feel safe at all times. We had such a great time, and the pictures they took of us are amazing!”
Another happy customer raved, “The sunset tour was absolutely breathtaking! I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The guides were fantastic, and I felt completely safe the entire time.”
So, the next time you’re thinking of heading into the backcountry for some winter fun, remember that an avalanche can happen to anyone. But don’t worry, Tahoe Snowshoe Tours has got your back. They’ll take you on a safe, enjoyable, and unforgettable adventure that will leave you with memories (and photos) to last a lifetime. Just don’t forget to pack your sense of humor and maybe a good snowball or two!

“If you’re going to do one thing, schedule a snowshoe tour through this company! My boyfriend and I had never been snowshoeing and I was nervous beforehand. Dave called us the evening prior to be sure we were well prepared as it had snowed a lot the day before. The instruction we were given made it so easy to find the meeting location. Dave had all the gear we needed and made it a very easy experience. The route we took was beautiful and gave us the best views. Dave is experienced and knowledgeable which is what made our experience so great. He knows the area but took us up at our pace which I was thankful for! We were so pleased with our experience and I am sure anyone that goes snowshoeing with this company will have a great time! Dave also takes FABULOUS photos which we love! I was breathing too heavy to document much but he sent us all the photos he took which were awesome. So thankful for this trip and the memories! Thanks, Dave!”
